Window Wall

A Window Wall is a non-load-bearing fenestration system that is part of combined assemblies and composite units. It features transparent vision panels and/or opaque glass or metal panels, extending from the top of one floor slab to the underside of the next higher floor slab. Window walls may include separate or integral slab edge covers and can be constructed from window systems, curtain walls, or storefront systems. The primary anchorage is provided at the head and sill conditions, with receptor systems that accommodate drainage and movement.

The window wall is supported by the floor below and aligns with the interior finishes, allowing for simple integration at door openings and balcony slabs. Adjustments for shear walls and variations in sill height can be made easily. The installation of window walls can occur in any order.

Window walls can mimic curtain walls to various extents, maintaining comparable performance criteria.
